The Professional:
Alex (she, her, hers) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to helping individuals, children, and adolescents learn how to navigate the world around them. Alex believes that everyone has the capacity for growth and her goal as a therapist is to help you tap into your own inner strength and resilience.
As a therapist, Alex believes that each person is unique, and that there is no “one size fits all” solution to any problem. She approaches therapy from a client-centered perspective, which means that she prioritizes your needs, goals, and preferences in working together. Alex’s role is to provide a supportive and compassionate space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors at your own pace and in your own way.
Alex received her Bachelor’s degree in social work from Illinois State University. She received her Master’s degree in Social Work with a specialization in Schools from Aurora university. Alex also has experience working in schools, where she has helped children and adolescents with behavioral issues and supported families in navigating the special education system. Through her work in schools, Alex has gained extensive knowledge of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and collaborating with other professionals to provide comprehensive care. Alex is currently pursuing certifications in the DIR/Floortime model.
