FAQs

How long are the sessions?

Your initial intake session involves reviewing the intake forms you’ve completed and clarifying any additional information needed. We strive to keep sessions conversational, allowing you to share as much as you feel comfortable. Typically, individual sessions last between 45-55 minutes. Group therapy sessions are usually 50 minutes long, while Sibshops run for 90 minutes unless specified otherwise.

What do I have to do in sessions?

Therapy is personalized according to your unique needs and goals. Our therapists adapt their approach to best support your individual circumstances, focusing on fostering personal growth and addressing specific concerns you bring to the session.

How does it work?

Each session is tailored to the individual’s needs. The structure of the session will depend on the therapeutic goals set by you and your therapist.

How long will it take?

The duration of therapy varies widely among individuals. It depends on your personal development goals, your commitment, and the specific issues you are addressing in therapy. Because everyone’s journey is unique, it’s challenging to predict an exact timeline.

What if I need to cancel?

We reserve your therapy time specifically for you. We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations to avoid a cancellation fee. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the session will incur a full session fee of $110. Our cancellation policy is strictly enforced to ensure that we can offer the best service to all our clients.

What should I wear?

Please wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and helps you focus during your session. Many of our therapists choose to work without shoes for comfort; you are welcome to do the same. Given that we cater to a diverse group, you may hear unexpected sounds from others during sessions. If you think you might need headphones to help concentrate, feel free to bring your own, or let us know—we have extras available.

What if I get overwhelmed and don’t want to talk anymore?

Our therapists are trained to work with neurodivergent individuals and understand various signals of disengagement. Whether you inform us verbally, indicate your preferences on your intake form, or simply stop talking, we will respect your need to pause or end the interaction.

What if having manipulatives or stimming helps me?

You are encouraged to bring any items that make you feel comfortable and help maintain your focus during therapy. Whether it’s manipulatives or stim toys, we welcome whatever supports your therapy process.
